While intentionally designed to challenge our youngest students, our Middle School program allows them to explore, discover, and cultivate new interests. During school hours, our “cellphone-free” policy promotes complete focus on academics, appropriate social development, and full immersion in our Knox Community. After school, Middle School students participate in enrichment programs to learn organizational and study skills and get a start on the day’s homework. Although the day is long, it is structured, fulfilling and productive.
You will be cared for and supported.
365体育投注Breakfast in Houghton Hall. I like the scrambled eggs and sausage, but sometimes I make my own waffle.
Off to my first class. Performing Arts! I love to perform. All Eyes On ME!
365体育投注A Knox tradition. Morning meeting in the gym. Our student council president runs the meeting. We hear announcements from students and teachers about what’s coming up. Today is my friend’s birthday, so a bunch of us went up and wished her HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Then the whole student body and faculty sang “Happy Birthday” to her. It’s a Club B day, I am heading off to my Outdoor Adventures club.
History. Not my best subject, but I try really hard. I’m more about the future! Okay…back to the Civil War.
LUNCH! I’m starving. Middle schooler’s eat first lunch. That’s good, because I’m starving. There’s a salad bar and a deli bar, but today’s Meatless Monday, so I’m eating a grilled cheese. And maybe a sandwich. And some fries. Did I mention I’m starving?
Time for my favorite class. I shouldn’t say that, but it is. Studio art. I’m a painter! Woohoo! I’m fabulous.
365体育投注A quick change in the locker room and BAM! I’m ready for dodge ball. Gym class is the whole middle school, grades six through eight. So I get to see my friends who are in other grades. They’re on MY dodge ball team. Because we win. Yup.
365体育投注So many exciting activities to choose from, where do I begin? This year, I am thinking about joining the Robotics Team so I can compete on the F.I.R.S.T. Lego League!
365体育投注Study hall in the library. I’m almost done with my homework. Yes!
FREEDOM. I’m going out to run around on the softball field before dinner. Did I mention how beautiful it is here? Look at the water!
365体育投注Dinner in Houghton Hall. The day students have gone home, so it’s just us boarders. It’s like a family, really. The cheesy potatoes are to die for.
Back in the dorm. Need to wash my uniform before tomorrow.
Off to the library for evening study hall time. I finished my homework already, so I get to read my new Percy Jackson book.
365体育投注Back to the dorm to get ready for bed. I shower at night. (So I can sleep later!)
365体育投注Lights out! Goodnight, Knox!
365体育投注Dean ’25 is proudly showing off his model for his Collaborative Learning class. In this lesson, our Middle School students combined knowledge of air-travel with 3-D art-making.
One of the most beloved Knox traditions is when we celebrate our young Knoxies at the Middle School “Moving Up” Ceremony on the quad in front of Houghton Hall.
365体育投注Knox Middle Schooler’s are lucky to take PE class on our waterfront campus. Ms. Van loves to get the kiddos out into nature.
